The rap culture made a strong impression on me at a young age. I created a book based on rap albums that set the stage for the rap industry to succeed. The particular albums forced society to change and view the world through a different lens. Keeping that in mind, I used a journal component and textures of notebooks, papers, tapes, markers, whiteouts, and lyrics. The components notions how rough and edgy rap can be. In addition, the handwritten component spoke about the intimacy the audience had with the albums. The fluorescent color inspiration came from the flyers widely known to spread the word about a rap event. The book reveals an album with its synapses and trend theory.
